Power of a periodic waveform

The power of a periodic signal $x_{T_0}(t)$ is the long-term average value of its squared waveform. More simply, it can also be obtained as the the average value of the squared waveform over one period $T_0$:

$$P_x = \lim_{\tau\to\infty}\frac{1}{\tau}\int_{0}^{\tau}|x_{T_0}(t)|^2\,dt =\frac{1}{T_0}\int_{0}^{T_0}|x_{T_0}(t)|^2\,dt$$
